    Tips for a healer?

    Posted: 17 Sep 2019 01:12 PM PDT

Yo, anyone willing to share tips, tricks, guides, links, nudes to help out a perspective healer?
    I would be mad grateful.

I don't even know what class to go yet. I'll probably mostly be doing large scale and then some duoing.

    What's the Cheesiest class

    Posted: 17 Sep 2019 01:07 PM PDT

Only played briefly at launch but had a question. Whats the cheesiest class? Not necessarily good all around but invokes the most confusion or frustration for other players.

Any specifics would be greatly appreciated.

If I'm coming back I'm definitely going to need a guild...

    Posted: 17 Sep 2019 09:32 AM PDT

I played from Western beta to almost two years after launch. Felt betrayed by pay to win and quit. I'm excited by the chance to play AAU but I don't have the crew I did back then. Looking to roll Nuian on an NA server. Whichever one is best for a Chicago based player. I'm a team player, PVX, like to help my friends. Would prefer an adult crew. I'm currently looking at guild recruitment but figured I'd say something as well. Here's hoping this great game finally plays like it should.

Can I still level with mining/labour?

    Posted: 17 Sep 2019 11:43 AM PDT

Haven't playing since launch where I basically leveled to max exclusively with mining. 1. Is this still even possible? 2. Is there any quest chains/zones I absolutely have to do so I am not screwed at max level?

Unable to apply patch windows bootcamp partition on MacBook. Any ideas?

    Posted: 17 Sep 2019 12:14 PM PDT

I currently have a bootcamp Windows partition in a newer MacBook Pro, but every installation attempt of archeage results in Unable to Apply Patch or whatever that error is. I've tried specifying a specific directory for archeage outside the glyph launcher directory, and that failed. Not sure what else to try, but I really wanna play unchained. I suppose the other option is to buy a gaming desktop or laptop, but I feel like that would just be a waste if AAU dies. Has anyone been able to successfully resolve this issue?

The Succubus Costume. A Serious in-depth Discussion.

    Posted: 17 Sep 2019 08:10 AM PDT

    TL;DR -

-"There is a line, and this crossed over it. We asked that XL put leather pants on the costume and it'd be good to go, but there were no updates for that, so there was no release."

They say boobs are not the problem, just add pants, while this is in the game already https://i.imgur.com/BhxKEPx.png Gamigo.. WHY....How?

-Maturity rating on the game has nothing to do with it and has been debunked, adding the costume is fine for the games rating, and games with lower rating have way more sexualized costumes. Archeage itself has more sexual swimsuits than the succubus costume. So not adding it makes absolutely no sense and is genuinely confusing.

-It not being added because it's not "badass" is also a lie, yata costumes exist and other ridiculous overdone and revealing non-badass costumes exist in the game. It's also sexist to say females look weak when they look sexy.

-Just don't release it for Dwarf if that's a problem. Though there should be no problem with it.

-Most of the CM's excuses for not adding it are just filler words that don't even relate to the costume itself.

-Adding it would 100% gain them profit, by far, not even an argument or a question.

-Doesn't cost them anything to create because it's already created in other regions.

-No one wants an edited version with pants or anything changed at all.

-Nothing they've said proves anything and has been wholly contradictions, it is proven that there's no reason they shouldn't add the costume other than their own personal values and bias against it. It's a personal problem, not a money, business, rating, or player problem.

Edit: Putting TL;DR at the top, if you want the reasoning for it all read below.

Before I start I'd like to ask everyone to stay respectful in this topic, as I'm going to respectfully break down objectively why Gamigo should finally give us the Succubus costume, something a large part of the community has been requesting for years, in fact it is the most requested item in the game. The only reason I'm writing this is because of the vague, empty and subjective answers given by Trion in the past that have so many glaring inconsistencies regarding the succubus costume. This post is the community genuinely wanting this costume, there's no hard feelings meant towards anyone, and this is me being genuinely constructive trying to give feedback. I'm simply going to use previous posts by CM's that explain why they haven't added the costume yet. Nothing is personal towards any CM's I mention, and I am only analyzing the words they're saying, I don't even know if they still work with Gamigo. Everything I say about their words is directed towards what they're saying and not to them personally, and I ask everyone in the comments to not attack them personally and show the same respect. I really want this to stay constructive.

This post is intended as feedback for the devs, so I'd appreciate if any devs can take this serious and thoroughly read through all of this, and either add the costume or give us a tangible reason why they won't add it. I know you guys hate addressing it at all, but please just honestly read this feedback without bias. The community deserves more than this, it's not okay to say an empty excuse to us, and then when it gets easily countered, put your fingers in your ears and refuse to hear it. You can ignore it if you want, but that behaviour reminds me a lot of how the game was handled before it was taken over by Gamigo. Gamigo, please prove to us you're different.

Prove to us that community feedback CAN make a difference.

When I first looked into this I didn't think it was such a big deal, and thought they would probably bring it to ArcheAge Unchained, since there was such a clear demand, every stream people spamming about it in the twitch chat, people mentioning it in the discord every other hour, etc. I thought, surely they have to bring it. But then on one of their recent streams to my surprise they confirmed no succubus costume in AA:U. Not understanding the full situation, I naively wrote this message on the AA:U Discord server:

"Can someone please explain why we won't get the SUCCUBUS costume? they just said a flat "no" on the stream, not even "we'll see in the future" or "no plans yet but maybe in future events" why just a flat out NO? i never played legacy AA when they refused to add it, but what's the reason? because it's too revealing? what does that even mean? it's got cleavage and a thong? when there are already bikinis in the game? and if it's too "suggestive" or sexual being a succubus, why does that matter at all when races like Warborn exist and again similarly/more revealing outfits exist? i don't understand the actual reasoning at all and it honestly heavily turns me off from playing the game because to me it's the best outfit in the game and banning it from the game shows what kind of toxic values and censorship the company imposes on its western audience. Removing this only hurts the playerbase you have, and to anyone it would bother, they don't even play the game. it won't affect the population/popularity at all, why take such a hard stance on this? it literally only hurts the playerbase, AA isn't popular enough for anyone to care, and even if it does become big, there are already sexy "objectifying" outfits of women (and men) in the game. So WHY is a literal non-nude "sexy" outfit even removed from the western version? you're not one of THOSE companies are you? please someone explain, is it a cosmetic issue or a technical issue or something else, i'm quite unfamiliar with the game and hearing this turns me off playing it. Please seriously address and elaborate further on your "NO" and possibly forward this to any higher ups. Thank you."

I still stand by these words, it's all true, but upon looking further into it, I've found official responses for why we haven't got the costume. I'm going to use some information from these threads and break down and respond to every official reason that's been given:

    https://www.reddit.com/r/archeage/comments/77h6y4/3rd_halloween_still_no_succubus_costume/

    https://www.reddit.com/r/archeage/comments/75loek/demonkiss_this_halloween_na/

    https://www.reddit.com/r/archeage/comments/77ioa5/demonkiss_part_2/

Feel free to read through all the comments on these pages also.

But what I want to directly address are the comments of CM's posted by Gilwork45. Let's see what they have to say and let's judge it from a BUSINESS PERSPECTIVE:

Celestrata - "Yo, droppin' by to talk about this mod a bit and further discuss costumes and "censorship." Let's start with the mod itself. In short, if it's a local client side appearance change, we of the production team don't really mind. Only you can see it and it's not affecting your gameplay or giving you an advantage. If this is what floats your boat, 'sall good. Have fun with your dress up. But, let me stress, LIKE ALL OF OUR MODS, THIS DOES NOT MEAN WE APPROVE IT. (Caps means we're srsbizness.) What does that last line mean? It means that we didn't look the mod over, we're not responsible for any damage this may cause to your game install, and we don't know how it may interact with the game's security. We make 100% zero guarantees with this mod. But if you want to use it, so be it. With that out of the way, let's talk "censorship," and dive a bit more into why some costumes change for NA/EU. I think some people don't understand why some items change, and there are very real reasons for making these decisions. Reasons that are honestly pretty disconnected from censorship. We've explained it before, and sometimes these reasons change per costume (for example, the "lace shirt" costume linked above did have a bug where it would sometimes remove the bra and panties in the original version. The corrected version fixed that bug. Granted, all character models in the game are effectively Barbie dolls underneath their undies, but it still wasn't a great bug.) I'm going to start with the obvious place: the international ratings systems. I know it's a big refrain that "ARCHEAGE IS MATURE SO GIVE US MATURE COSTUMES," but that's a incorrect way to look at it. The fact is, even with a rating of M and PEGI 16+, there are still standards we have to hit. Like it or not, neither of these ratings represent the end of the spectrum (everyone forgets about AO, for example), and there are still restrictions for what can be showed. We want to make sure we're hitting those marks correctly globally. The second is to sometimes correct for bugs that can appear in the costumes. I've already covered that above, so I'm going to skip it. The third reason, and this is the "pulling back the business curtain" reason -- overly "sexy" costumes don't sell great. They sell really poorly, actually. And there's a pretty tangible reason for that: Everyone in the game wants to be a badass. We're all heroes, after all. Many folks aren't into being half-naked on the battlefield UNLESS that look radiates power or strength. That's what many of these changes are after -- not censorship. Costumes are not cheap items to create. In fact, for all games that I've worked on, they are one of the most expensive things you can make. That's because a "single" costume is never a single one. In ArcheAge, it's 12 different models that are all tweaked for the gender of each race. (2 genders, 6 races = 12 costumes per 1 design.) They require a variety of artist types to create, depending on the look, and they require some heavy QA to make sure the different racial animations or hair styles don't clip or glitch them. Because of that cost, we want costumes to appeal to the majority of the AA playerbase so they sell well and the cost invested can be recovered. The type of costume that frequently sells the best are items that have a measure of sexiness and strength in them, not just one or the other. Great examples of this are the Nui's Chosen Uniforms, the Dragon Cultist Duster, the Bloodmaw Eveningwear, and others. None of those costumes shy away from showing skin, but all of them are extremely popular. Heck, even within the staff, many of the female players lept to wear one of those costumes because they just look downright awesome. The lace shirt? Not so much. Many players just didn't bother with it, mostly because it looks weak. It doesn't radiate that level of power people are looking for. We did some heavy research into this using the performance of existing costumes and player comments, and the results are clearly pointing towards this conclusion. When we hold a costume back or request a change, it's usually to mix up something in it so it will be more appealing to the folks here in our region. I'm going to be blunt here: A lot of folks don't play ArcheAge to look like they stole their boyfriend's shirt and called it a day. We're warriors, mages, priests, and thieves. We want to look the part. The Succubus costume is a perfect example. For a demon that's suppose to embody dominance and control, the look lacks that level of strength and cunning. We requested for it to be improved upon and, once those changes are made, it would be a good candidate for our regions. Until then, it needs to wait a bit longer. TL;DR -- Mod falls under our "not approved, use at your own risk, but we won't ban you for it" category, we're not adverse to sexiness in costumes, but they need to also look powerful in order to be appealing to our audience and fall within our ratings levels. It's less about censorship, and more about improving costumes so they appeal to the majority and not minority of our users. Costumes that don't meet that standard get held back until they have that level of badassitude or can be changed to improve upon their designs."

"Hi Gilwork45, I've looked into the history of this item in particular and found a few things of note. There is a line, and this crossed over it. We asked that XL put leather pants on the costume and it'd be good to go, but there were no updates for that, so there was no release. Even if players decided to pay a lot of money for this overtly sexualized content, it would not be released unless altered appropriately. While AA is rated Mature in the NA, it is Pegi 16 in EU. Also, given the female dwarf character, this type of costume becomes even more unlikely to be released. Glad I could get back to you regarding this important-to-you topic. Enjoy the rest of the costumes that AA has to offer. I'm sure there are plenty that will help you with your rare tastes. If not, there are sites for that kind of thing. I'm sure you're familiar. Cheers, Muzzle"

Let's break apart all of these points one by one. I will be fair and leave literally nothing out.

"let's talk "censorship," and dive a bit more into why some costumes change for NA/EU. I think some people don't understand why some items change, and there are very real reasons for making these decisions. Reasons that are honestly pretty disconnected from censorship. The corrected version fixed that bug. Granted, all character models in the game are effectively Barbie dolls underneath their undies, but it still wasn't a great bug.)"

Okay, so the first reason is completely unrelated to the succubus costume and is speaking about a past costume that had a bug, they are saying that sometimes costumes have bugs so they remove them. Okay? What's that got to do with the succubus costume? The costume is not bugged. Filler reason #1.

    Next point.

"I'm going to start with the obvious place: the international ratings systems. "There is a line, and this crossed over it. We asked that XL put leather pants on the costume and it'd be good to go, but there were no updates for that, so there was no release."

So to say "Archeage is mature so give us mature costumes" is an incorrect way to look at it? What can we deduct from what they said here? They asked that XL put LEATHER PANTS on the costume and it'd be good to go? So that means the only part you have a problem with is the butt? The boob cleavage is fine right? Okay that's helpful to know, we've boiled it down to what the problem is now, if they added pants, it would be good to go, according to the devs themselves. They also use the point that, Archeage is M but it's also rated Pegi 16 in EU, as if that makes some sort of difference.

But the cleavage doesn't matter right, which is good, it shouldn't, because they just wanted to put pants on the succubus costume, they literally said that. So what's the problem? Was it showing just a bit TOO much butt cheek for you? Even though swimsuits/underwear in ArcheAge show just as much and more? But, 1 or 2 inches less and it'd be good to go and wouldn't be considered "overtly sexualized content"?

    Okay.

I'm going to let facts and reality speak for itself, Tera Online is an mmo that's rated M and is PEGI 12, yes, Pegi 12, not 16+ like AA. Keep that in mind when looking at these pictures:

    https://imgur.com/a/Lh2x7Oh

    Compared to simply:

    https://i.imgur.com/LPwgkml.png

^^^ The "worst" part of the costume, and the sole reason it's being held back from us, the amount of butt that's showing. The thong covers no less than other swimsuits in the game, and every other part of the costume is far more covered up than every bikini in the game, it doesn't even show a lot of the stomach or legs and even covers the navel.

    https://i1.wp.com/puu.sh/l3ccO/bf5934634e.png

THIS IS NOT OPINION. At this point. It's not simply my opinion that those depictions are far more scandalous and revealing than anything in ArcheAge, including the succubus costume, it's fact. I'm also going to link below some examples of "lewd" depictions in AA that are more revealing. But, do you honestly think anything in Archeage can match the outfits of Tera?

They can't, and this objectively proves that rating has NOTHING to do with the succubus costume being held back. This point has no leg to stand on, it's impossible to look at those pictures and think otherwise, this is objective proof and the "rating" point has been completely debunked, opinions aside. There's no nudity and that's that, it shows less than a swimsuit in archeage and other games with a lower age rating, there's nothing more to say.

Pictures of sexy AA costumes and npc:

    https://imgur.com/a/A96YBzd

Actually this whole thing becomes really confusing when I see some of those pictures from AA, like, what are you guys doing? What's the problem with the succubus? Some of those are literally worse, and the succubus costume actually looks 'badass', with straps, leggings, flames and all, it's even got wings, it actually looks really cool, it's not just "pervert material" like you could argue the bikinis are in the game. What IS your problem exactly? What line does that cross?

Before we move on from this, I'd like to show some screenshots from WoW, a literal kids game :)

    https://imgur.com/a/AgEKWS6

Isn't that blood elf thong just showing a bit TOO much cheek? :) and isn't the succubus a little too sexually implicit in nature? It's a succubus, a demon of temptation. She even spanks herself.

World of Warcraft is rated T (Teen) by the ESRB for blood and gore, crude humor, mild language, suggestive themes, and use of alcohol and violence. In Australia, the game's earned an M rating from the Office of Film and Literature Classification, and Pan European Game Information gives it a 12+ (11+ in Finland).

So rated T, with one overly strict country (Australia) managing to push it to M. Normally it's T, pegi 11 and 12 everywhere else.

    Next point.

"The third reason, and this is the "pulling back the business curtain" reason -- overly "sexy" costumes don't sell great. They sell really poorly, actually. I'm going to excuse this person here for sounding so sexist, because clearly they don't know how bad it sounds what they're saying.

Disregarding how completely SUBJECTIVE it is what you're saying, it's actually embarrassing to read and in my opinion very unprofessional, you can't just tell players what they want, especially when it's the most requested item in the game.

But let's talk about what you're saying here, you're saying that being a sexually irresistible literal SUCCUBUS, is "too sexy" and not badass.

What? Are you saying that a female using her sexuality to her advantage, to have power over men who can't resist her charm, is not badass? That's not badass to you? Because that's what a Succubus is, the costume doesn't look sexy for no reason.

Female sexuality and sexiness is the opposite of badass? Hmm.. interesting. There's even a succubus in WoW with the spell literally called "Seduction" which stuns the target where they can't move because they are charmed.

Did you also say here about: "The type of costume that frequently sells the best are items that have a measure of sexiness and strength in them, not just one or the other."

So when a costume is too one sided sexy, or strong looking, it doesn't sell well therefore you won't implement it to the game? What about costumes that are too one sided looking like this?

    https://i.imgur.com/YYNAEKp.png

Is that badass to you? See the beauty of subjectivity when talking about cosmetics? Is this a badass picture of a hero? Aren't we warriors, mages, priests and thieves?

That picture alone is enough to debunk your entire paragraph, but I'll go even further and overkill it.

The Succubus costume is not even out of theme, it's for Halloween, and is a succubus costume, representing a demon of temptation, a demon that should be irresistible to men, it's in theme, and properly depicting what a succubus is meant to represent. To call that "not badass" and too sexualized, is actually being really sexist towards women and goes under the category of S--- shaming. It's like when you release swimsuits in summer, it's revealing yes and can be seen as "sexual", but it's in theme with summer, it's not being sexy for no reason. Also if women are "too sexy" in a swimsuit, then so should men be when they're in shorts/briefs for their swimsuits, why single out women? Is it because you think their body is automatically sexual just for being female, and they can't be anything more than that when they show skin? When they show skin it's AUTOMATICALLY sexual? Sounds REALLY sexist and out of line to me. Why are men allowed to show skin without being seen as sexual? It's a swimsuit afterall in summer and this is a succubus on halloween? In fact this is more fitting to expose skin than summer bikinis are (even though this reveals less). But women are not automatically sexual when they show skin, can a woman show skin without being seen as purely a sex object? And if they are trying to be sexy, why can't that be seen as badass and powerful if they're using it for that reason?

Like... you know, a succubus? Tries to be badass and powerful BY looking too sexy?

Are you starting to see why I originally called this 'toxic censorship'?

Even Fortnite, the biggest game in the world with all eyes on them, constantly under scrutiny, released rather "suggestive" sexy swimsuit characters in summer. Their excuse is that they won't release sexy costumes normally when it's not in theme, same for League of Legends with champions like Evelynn, she's a succubus, showing a lot of skin, with very sexually implicit voice acting, constantly saying suggestive comments during the game, because that fits her character and what she's supposed to be, her strength is her sexuality. Again, another game at the top of the world in popularity with lower age ratings than ArcheAge.

Evelynn official in game art and voice lines:

    https://i.imgur.com/nE1GPVo.jpg

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MS2GjKug7Fw&

This is not sexist because it's in theme with the character, and is not objectifying women for no reason, it's presenting their sexuality in a powerful, dominant way. (aka as a SUCCUBUS). Anyone saying this is wrong or objectifying are the sexist ones, shaming womens sexuality. If it was portraying her in a degrading, submissive way, sexualizing her for no reason, out of theme, and just because "women are designed to be sexualized" then that would be sexist and there would be an argument there.

But with a literal succubus outfit you just have no argument, maybe in the future if XLgames release something completely out of theme and sexually degrading, then maybe we can take a look at that when it comes, but for now, give up the whole succubus censorship, this is ridiculous and is coming across as uncomfortably sexist, especially when you call a sexy succubus depiction as looking "WEAK". You literally called a woman looking sexy as weak, because "not radiating power, (aka masculine strength)", is seen as weak. Sorry but pure sex appeal on a succubus is not weak, it's powerful, dominant and deliberate.

"Many folks aren't into being half-naked on the battlefield UNLESS that look radiates power or strength. That's what many of these changes are after -- not censorship.

The lace shirt? Not so much. Many players just didn't bother with it, mostly because it looks weak. It doesn't radiate that level of power people are looking for."

Your comments are subjective, grossly biased and opinionated and come across really sexist, even though you don't intend that. Please see the hypocrisy in this. Women do not look weak when they look sexy, especially when looking sexy is the source of the woman's power as it is in this case of being a succubus. That's the power she's chosen to use and embrace. Maybe to you that's weak, but in reality it's powerful, which is proven as seduction has been a concept for thousands of years. Entire kingdoms in the past have fallen in the name of seduction. You have no right to impose your views onto a playerbase that come from all walks of life, with different tastes, opinions, sexualities and interests than you. To me a succubus is powerfully sexual.

Whatever personal views you have on the matter should be kept to yourself and not imposed onto anyone else. Everything I've written and listed here is objective fact and looked at from the perspective of reality and equality. These are not my opinions, I have reasons to back up everything I say.

We are not imposing anything onto you by wanting the succubus costume, because you don't have to use it, but we are actively being neglected something we want due to your own personal views.

Now you might say in response to that, but Reytheolomew, if it really is about equality, why does the female have to be in a thong? Why can't a male be in a thong also showing his butt?

Great question, the same reason why men generally don't wear croptops, get belly piercings, wear female waist contouring corsets, wear tops with frontal cleavage, booty shorts, high heels, etc. You get the picture. Maybe because they don't HAVE those features? It's the same reason why when men want to look strong and dominant in action movies and give some female eye candy, they portray men shirtless and show off his muscles, because of the differences of the male and female body. But, did I just say male and female bodies are different, isn't that sexist? Or is it sexist to imply males and females are exactly the same? That male bodies have no assets over females, and female bodies have no assets over male bodies?

Why do different sexualities exist then? You're free to like whichever one you like, but why do some people like males or females? Shouldn't we all like and be one sexuality if every body looks the same and there's no differences? Come on, let's not shame and discredit people for their sexual orientation by implying otherwise, both genders are not the same, and people are attracted to different features of each gender.

Which brings us to the conclusion that, people like men for certain assets, and women are also renowned for certain assets. Sure, men are free to wear thongs if they like, but, generally speaking, is their butt one of the renowned features of their body by people who are attracted to men? Should men also wear heels to make their butt pop out like females do? Should a man also wear a feminine small waisted corset to accentuate his nonexistent waist? Wouldn't that just hurt him? What about a croptop? Without him having breasts, what about a feminine tight form fitting dress with a small waist, large hips, and room for his nonexistent breasts? Most would say this doesn't fit and would look silly, but you're free to add gender bending costumes if that's what's in demand.

But it doesn't look like that's in demand and it doesn't look like XLgames is creating such costumes. If they are and you want to sell them that's up to you. But what you shouldn't do, is hold back costumes that are in demand by the majority of players, and what is already widely appealing to the majority of a demographic (people who like sexy females). A succubus wearing a thong to accentuate her butt is standard and adds to the concept of the outfit - Temptation. She is female, and has that asset over a man, just like she shows cleavage and has her boobs as an asset over a man. This should be embraced and praised, not shamed and degraded, something to feel guilty and embarrassed about, and be seen as simply a "sex object", spreading the notion that it's impossible to be powerful and sexy. If you see a sexy succubus as weak and powerless, and in your own words - "For a demon that's suppose to embody dominance and control, the look lacks that level of strength and cunning", you say she lacks that look of "strength and cunning" and doesn't embody dominance and control. Then it is you who's reducing her to that, by saying a girl can only be seen as a sex object when she's sexy, you are the one reducing her to a sex object, not the ones who find her sexually appealing when she's trying to be just that. You're saying that raw sex appeal (even though this costume is more than that, with actual design) and strength can't exist simultaneously, when they can, and they do, for many women.

While men on the other hand go shirtless and show off their muscles, they show off what most people find attractive in men, and are praised for it, and seen as "strong". Are you implying men by nature have inherently "strong" looking bodies, and females look weak? And for a woman to look strong, she has to cover up and look... MASCULINE? There's nothing wrong with femininity, and wearing a thong only accentuates that, just like on the beach a guy wears his beach shorts showing his upper body/muscles, and a female wears a bikini, showing her cleavage and butt. It's no secret that her curvy body is one of her strengths, they like to flaunt what they have over males and they should feel free to do that without being shamed. This is the way things are, and this is what's in demand.

Afterall it does all come down to demand right? and what the majority of players want? Looking at it from a ...BUSINESS Perspective? Nothing more to say here.

    Next point.

"Also, given the female dwarf character, this type of costume becomes even more unlikely to be released."

Don't release it for the Dwarf race then. Even though the dwarves have an adult looking body, with breasts and wide hips, I can see where the line can be blurred due to their faces being "cute", but still, nothing says you can't add it for Dwarves, if you want to lose out on money that's up to you, because adding it wouldn't affect the game's rating at all. A lot of games do this with their "child" races, like Tera, censored a lot of Elin costumes, though if you look what's in the game today, proves that it has no effect on age rating either way. Again, there's no nudity here, M / pegi 16+ allows for this. But it's your choice, if that's the only thing holding you back, release the costume for the "adult" women.

"Costumes are not cheap items to create. Because of that cost, we want costumes to appeal to the majority of the AA playerbase so they sell well and the cost invested can be recovered."

I left this last because it's another filler point and answers itself. You are talking about how expensive costumes are to create and what things need to be considered, when you don't need to create the succubus costume, it's already created. It's simply being held back from entering the western region audience. Just let the korean model of the costume be implemented into the game and stop holding it back, and problem solved, no work needed. I'm aware how hard it is to create outfits in games, but we're not asking you to create an outfit.

And please, do not add this costume if you're going to change it, Gilwork45 on reddit put it best:

"Whatever the real reason it, it doesn't really matter, we can speculate all damn day, but another region (Japan) deciding to implement the original version last week really tells you all you need to know. Trion is holding this costume back and whether it is for censorship, lack of 'coolness', 'cost' or whatever reason which have already been given it doesn't really matter, if we ever see this costume in this region (We won't) it won't look anything like it's original form, it will have leather pants, a couple more flames here and there and we'll be told that this is what we wanted the whole time."

We don't want pants, we want a sexy succubus, please don't add it if you're going to ruin it. We don't want that, and would adding pants on it automatically make it more "badass"? Just because it's less sexually implicit? again, females have to cover up and not express sexuality to be seen as "badass", as a literal SUCCUBUS, a demon of irresistible temptation.

Let's agree on one thing Gamigo, one thing you know is a fact, if you released the costume, the costs of "implementing it to the western version, into the shop, making it possible for purchase" etc, whatever the costs are. Let's all admit the truth, that whatever the cost is, to implement an already created costume into AA Unchained, the profits you would make in comparison, would be monstrous. I would personally pay $100 USD for this costume, maybe even $200, and that's not something I can afford to spend on a game, many others have also reflected this idea, people are willing to pay ridiculous amounts if you add it, but obviously you won't sell it for that much, the point is, regardless of what price you set it at, and regardless if you see us as a "VOCAL MINORITY", the undeniable fact is that you would make extreme profit by releasing this costume.

Just even take a look at this random video I just watched of the new elf customization:

    https://youtu.be/wP2ITcQ8wEk?t=946

Everyone wants it, there's a much larger portion of the community that wants it, than the ones that don't want it.

How friendly will Unchained be to a casual player?

    Posted: 17 Sep 2019 03:23 AM PDT

Hi, I played Archeage at launch for about a month and I had a blast but that was long ago and I barely remember anything. My question is: is there a point for casual player (~2 hours playtime per day, sometimes less, sometimes more) to get into the game? I am all about crafting, trade runs etc but I imagine I will get stomped in world PVP? I remember there were quite many faction vs faction events. I don't care about the 1v1 arena. I also remember good land spots were very hard to acquire.

Another noob here, with a few questions regarding the launch

    Posted: 17 Sep 2019 04:19 PM PDT

    1. What time do we know servers will go up? If at all?

    2. Does this game segregate servers like wow or gw2 does? With tags, like rp/pvp/ rp pvp/

    3. What is the equivalent to wowhead or the balance where I can find class guides or 'spec' guides.

    4. What are current the meta specs and combinations for each archetypes, like tank, heal, buffer, melee, range, etc.

    PvE?

    Posted: 17 Sep 2019 04:11 PM PDT

I see a lot of hype about the PvP aspects of this game, and while I do enjoy some high quality PvP, I was wondering how the dungeons and raids are in this game as well. Anything to write home about, or do they mainly take a back seat to PvP?

    Malediction as main tree

    Posted: 17 Sep 2019 04:10 PM PDT

Haven't played in a long while and I want to play a mage this time around. I've always loved occultism and pretty much whatever i play is going to involve that this time around, currently thinking about playing Male/Occult/Aura (Emissary I think its called). I see most people use it as a support tree with sorc but was wondering if something like this would work. I mostly want do do small group pvp and farming, would I be better off just going Revenant or could this work at all?

Edit; Was thinking something similar to this https://archeagecodex.com/us/calc/486638 probably a couple points elsewhere, but pretty much that.

    Plate or cloth healer?

    Posted: 17 Sep 2019 04:08 PM PDT

Hi can someone please convince me on one or the other for unchained? I'm having a breakdown and need help.

Will be doing pvp, mostly small scale (5-15 people).

Side note, I plan on going Assassin for small and Doombringer for big, is that okay? I really am not a fan of songcraft.

    Costume Questions

    Posted: 17 Sep 2019 10:01 AM PDT

Hello, I'm trying to figure out which gender I should play in Archeage. I think the first place to try to narrow things down would be to ask how the costumes are perceived between each gender.

That is, is either gender known for having either consistently great or garish costumes? Is there good variety among the female costumes (not every costume being a practical bikini, not every costume being nun's clothes)? Do the male costumes have effort put into them?

Any thoughts on which gender has the better costumes?

Help me choose my class with what I like in other games.

    Posted: 17 Sep 2019 03:46 PM PDT

    Hello guys,

Been pretty lost with the total classe count.. first is there some kind of website where I can find all datas up to date? I mean with malediction and the new skillset.

I'm not looking for the BESTCLASSTOPICKPLEASE but a somehow viable class capable of doing things both in solo and group environment.. Also if the BESTCLASSTOPICKPLEASE is what would fit with my gameplay, I'll take it.

I liked many playstyle over my game life, maybe you can help me out based on those?

Warlock from WoW: dots dots dots I love it

Assassin Rogue from WoW: dots dots dots but melee :-)

Discipline Priest: apply one shield on your allies and now when you deal dps you also heal your ally, absolutely loves this mechanic it's one of the coolest thing I've seen

    Any nuke mages on LoL/DotA

Samurai from FF14: Melee dps, very very very dynamic and has a lot of options on his kit.

Rangers: I don't like pets but I definitely enjoy bows

In a general mindset I prefer offense at defense but some beefy unkillable healer can also be fun! (Paladin from WoW for example). I really like dynamic gameplay with a lot of skill cap, I want something with a good progression curve.

Is there anything you can help me with?

    Thanks for reading!

soon to be new player, what class would be considered a hybrid class?

    Posted: 17 Sep 2019 08:12 AM PDT

A class that can buff teammates and deal some damage as well? I have zero knowledge of the game and thought about downloading the f2p before I buy the b2p game on Sept 30. This game looks (from the recent videos) very promising.

Looking to go Fanatic for PVE and Spellsinger for PVP, any tips like what to level first etc. would be MUCH appreciated.

    Posted: 17 Sep 2019 03:23 PM PDT

This is only based off the info I've read over the last 24 hours, any suggestions would also be greatly appreciated. I read that Spellsinger is no good for pve but I really like the mobility so using it for pvp sounds like a good comprimise, I also read that Fanatic can be boring for pve , so I'm still not too confident in my idea so far but I do like the insane power it comes with, looks great for pve and larger pvp battles. I am still very new to MMO's (BDO is the only other one I've played) so I apologize if my vernacular is incorrect.

Let me know if any additional info would help.

Looking for a hardcore guild, nothing casual.

    Posted: 17 Sep 2019 02:38 PM PDT

Hello, I am a returning player to arche age. I had many hours from 3.0-4.5 ingame but grew tired of the pay2win. After seeing unchained coming out with a hype around it being B2P I was very excited to come back and try it out. I've been looking around for a guild, but most that I joined are very casual and accept all members without much vetting. I am a heavy PvP player but like to do everything in ArcheAge. I figured any good guild would be looking for players singularly and not posting and accepting everyone. I plan to go swiftblade - battle - occult on the 30th. I have a deep knowledge of the game and play sweaty hours. Looking for a mature group and not a bunch of kids who scream over comms and make thing unenjoyable and cause drama. I'm 22 years old and play 40-60 hours a week. Also must be organized and have a solid game plan for launch.
