Is it worth it to pick the basic archepass (gilda) on launch to get more gilda for landrush? Posted: 08 Oct 2019 04:48 PM PDT I was wondering since archepass leveling seems slow on pts and the unlock also cost 5 gilda. [link] [comments]
Is there a graphics guide out there? What are the best settings for high fps on decent machines Posted: 08 Oct 2019 05:58 PM PDT I have a 1660ti and ryzen 2600x pretty much and am trying to figure out the best settings I can still maintain 150+ fps at 1080p. I found a guide here: http://forums.archeagegame.com/showthread.php?347697-Nvidia-DX11-MSAA-best-graphics-guide-2019 but most of the guide was hosted as pictures on a site that shutdown so I have no idea what the guide actually said.. [Discussion] Thoughts on the new crime/infamy system. Posted: 08 Oct 2019 07:56 AM PDT Recently this topic seems to pop up here, especially as more people get to test this on the new PTS. It looks like there are basically two types of players, those who support the changes and those who don't. For simplification purposes lets label those two types as "team green" and "team purple" to try to avoid biased terms like "care bear" or "pk douchebag" etc. There seems to be a heated debate with emotions going high on both sides of the camp. The simple premise seems to be as follows: If I make the conscious decision to take a pack into a PvP zone I should expect to be attacked. I know that if I get jumped on by a green, they will suffer an infamy hit and I will get 20% from the pack once he turns it in. Unfortunately on the old crime system this infamy hit wasn't punishing enough and you could get away with murdering a few people before having to go on trial. This is usually what people heatedly discuss on the forum or this subreddit, but this is completely missing the point. The most important use of the crime system is not stealing packs from lonely adventurers but the "end game" pvp of guild vs guild combat. Mostly manifested in fighting over bosses and back in the day also huge guild trade runs for resources that would be used on building ships and crafting gear for the guild. For those who remember old ArcheAge back in 2014/15 when the guild drama and politics were by far the most complex. This was all due to the fact that you were not safe in the open world if you were carrying valuable packs and/or trying to take down an end game boss who drops "phat loots". Personally as a leader of a small and relatively casual guild I remember the many diplomacy meetings I had to sit through with the bigger guilds trying to negotiate some sort of protection so that we could run our Freedich runs in relative safety .. at least from one half of the server and the corresponding alliance of guilds. These guilds were usually allied cross faction too. Our ambitions While I understand that murdering low level/gear players in cold blood just for fun is unsavoury at best and could possibly hurt the game population too. The biggest problem is that these crime changes do not take in consideration the reason why most people used bloodlust, and by far the most interesting part of ArcheAge sandboxy end-game. We hoped that the addition of guild dominions would bring this back. Alas, with the possibility to permanently run peace scrolls and thus be immune to dominions, it wasn't so. So to sum this up. These new crime changes completely destroy the interesting guild-oriented end-game of ArcheAge. And this is what we should talk about. Guild rivalries will always exist, but as it is now boss fights are a tag race so if a rival green guilds tag the boss first you will have to let them have it. But of course this does not increase faction vs faction PvP because two rival guilds won't cooperate and won't protect each other against reds on boss/mass tradepack fights. Now the best course of action is to wait for the green guild get murdered and then ninja some packs off the ground meanwhile. It's just a bit weird. I plead on Gamigo to talk to XL, consider either removing peace scrolls (dominion protection), reverting the crime system to what it was or adjusting it so that guilds could contest each other like back in the day where alliances and communication mattered. But if neither of these are even viable options for XL. Then please remove bloodlust altogether so that ArcheAge isn't stuck in this weird Sandbox-themepark schism. So that those who like guild oriented PvP and contesting other guilds, finally know to move on to different games. Removing bloodlust should be a good move as well for team green who prefer a more linear experience akin to traditional theme park game. XLGames please make the decision. Either revert ArcheAge back into a PvP-oriented sandbox (or sand-park) or finish the transition to traditional themepark. Right now AA is stuck in a weird limbo between two worlds. ps: sorry about formatting, i dont make long reddit posts often [link] [comments]

Posted: 08 Oct 2019 02:45 PM PDT Hey there! I was one of the AA players at launch way back in the day. I'm trying to figure out the class I want to play but there are so many. I want to be able to have a control ability and also protect ability. I was looking into Malediction, Auramancy and I think Witchcraft, but I have no idea what to choose. [link] [comments]

Posted: 08 Oct 2019 08:11 AM PDT I'm really confused and I'm hoping some of you could help me decide... I used to always play DR but that was way back, when all the old combos still worked, like leech, overwhelm, shadowsmite and whatnot... nowadays DR plays totally different but I heard it's still a top-notch class. I'm preparing to come back for unchained now. And I really loved the look of the new Swiftblade skillset. I just tried it out on the PTS and I was originally deadset on playing it. But I just reached 55 full hiram on PTS and it just feels incredibly weak to me, I love the mobility but damage wise it really just seems eh... So now I am REALLY torn... on one hand I want to play a DR (because I also love Nodachis and I can't play that effectively with a swiftblade..) and I heard Darkrunner is still true and proven... On the other hand I like the mobility the swiftblade in Deathwish provides but the damage just feels lacking and you're kinda forced into a dual-wield spec which I don't mind that much, it's just that I love Nodachis more and it feels like the skillset doesn't seem that great... I was very deadset on Swiftblade but now that I reached 55 I am a bit unsure... do you think Deathwish is going to be viable? Should I go Darkrunner instead? I'm a bit confused, so halp. Posted: 08 Oct 2019 08:07 AM PDT Coming back after not playing for years and I remember playing darkrunner and defiler. Basically, I just want something a little different, something tankier that can last longer in fights. I'd like to almost frontline in small groups but also be able to do decent damage. I've heard blighter is good? But I'd love to hear some of your opinions because I honestly am clueless. Thanks in advance. [link] [comments]

Battlemage/Mindslaver builds and skillsets? Posted: 08 Oct 2019 01:24 PM PDT What would be the most optimal setup for these classes? Looking on KR I see both cloth + dual wield and plate + shield, and stat wise some people stack intel, mpen and others go intel, stam, max hp. What would be the most optimal setup + stat distribution for this day and age? Also what are some recommended builds for these 2 classes including ancestrals? [link] [comments]

PTS: Character Creation Graphic glitch and program closing issue Posted: 08 Oct 2019 06:40 PM PDT Hi, So downloaded the PTS, but when I log in and go to create a character all the characters show up missing their visuals, Either looking like a shade or just missing complete parts of their body. I saw this on a PTS video as well. Is this normal? is there a fix for this? The other issue is when I attempt to log out of the game it freezes. I have to force quit the game to get it to shut down. Again is this an issue others are having? is there a fix? Any tips or info would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! [link] [comments]
Does the PTS give you free credits to spend? Posted: 08 Oct 2019 02:40 PM PDT Logged into the unchained PTS today and noticed I have 3,575 credits in the cash shop. Are those credits just temporary to spend for the PTS or no? (want to make sure I'm not spending actual credits I paid for). [link] [comments]
Posted: 08 Oct 2019 12:19 PM PDT I am returning to Archage and am wanting to know how viable a Bloodreaver is? I'm wanting to go something that is a melee build but no doubt there will be a flood of Darkrunners. Shadowplay doesn't interest me as a skill line so I wanted to try something different and came across a Bloodreaver. How are they in terms of PvP and PvE and what sort of build/weapon combo should I use? Appreciate any information that can be provided :) [link] [comments]

Completely new to Archeage, looking for a certain play-style Posted: 08 Oct 2019 02:24 PM PDT I'm currently dabbling in the PTS, trying out different races and classes, but I can't seem to find a play-style that I resonate with. My goal as a new player; I want to experience everything that Archeage Unchained has to offer, from PvE to PvP so I'm looking for a class that is flexible between the two. I want to do melee, but I heard melee classes aren't front line fighters, mages are...which has me a bit confused on what I want to do. I'm not necessarily looking for what's meta, but what is viable and fun. If anyone knowledgeable with Archeage could assist, I'd really appreciate it! [link] [comments]
