    ArcheAge Mistsong Banquet Wave 20 Strategy guide (February Update 2020)

    Mistsong Banquet Wave 20 Strategy guide (February Update 2020)

    Posted: 11 Mar 2020 05:09 AM PDT

    Since many people still seem a bit lost with the recent changes (+ more or less new ""intended"" features), I thought I'd write up a quick guide on how to maximize your chances on passing Wave 20 on post-february-update Miststong Banquet. (may already be outdated by the next patch)

    GENERAL ADVICE

    • If you are a non-DPS class, its recommended to be the builder if possible
    • While dealing with a wave, stand inside it and pay attention to dropping crystals and claim them as they drop. If there is more than 1 crystal on the floor, the game will 99% of the time pick up both and only credit you one. Even if the other crystal is 10 meters away.
    • When DPS'ing, don't just wittle down one mob so it doesn't even get to your inner turrets - switch your target to a healthier one once your target reaches ~50% of its health. Its better to spread out your damage and have them die evenly because else you end up with half the wave dead before they reach past your mid-turret and half the wave above 50% HP, potentially breaching through. Note that this is only really relevant with bigger waves and doesn't matter on W20.
    • Always pay attention to your buddys task aswell, if you see that he won't get one of his crystals in time you may be able to save it from going to waste (which is more important than strictly staying true to your role)
    • Stand as close as possible to your turret when upgrading/switching and do not move while doing so

    NOTE: While the new changes require way more tryharding even as a team, its absolutely possible to handle a lane completely solo IF you're a DPS

    1. Building

    1.1 General Build reference for the game

    Outer and inner:

    • Until W 18 -> 3x Shock 1x Frost
    • W 18 & 19 -> 4x Flame
    • W 20 -> 4x Rapid

    Mid:

    • Whole game -> 1x Flame

    1.2 Build Path + Explanation

    Start by building the flame in the middle and a shock on the outer side (so you will definitely not forget to have a shock ready by wave 4), then work your way around as you like, setting up the general build (3x Shock 1x Frost on both sides). When done, focus on getting the flame turret (mid) to max. Now you will go around and work on getting your shock turrets to stage 6 (priority doesn't matter too much, upgrading your outer and inner side evenly is what I recommend though), followed by the frost turrets (when all shocks are at 6). If you are at that point and the game is still running, invest the rest of the crystals in whatever shock cannon is closest. When you arrive at Wave 18, quickly switch out every turret to flame turrets (because the monsters are immune to stun and freezing effects) and keep that for the next wave. On Wave 20 switch out every turret but the middle flame one to rapid cannons.

    Quick reference building path:

    • [Build] Flame -> Shock-Shock-Shock-Frost -> Shock-Shock-Shock-Frost
    • [Upgrade] Flame (8) -> 6x Shock (6) -> 2x Frost (6)

    1.3 Building Wrap-Up

    As builder you should at the very least constantly enhance the mid-turret with your 5-Skill and try to position yourself inside the wave to save any dropping crystals. Also watch out for mobs on other lanes getting through, once mobs get past the inner cannons every DPS counts and you can't slack around just because you are a builder.

    2. DPS/Flyer

    2.1 Objective

    Choose the DPS Skill appropiate for your class

    As the DPS/Flyer your main goal is more straightforward: pay attention to the minimap and grab the red and blue crystals from the 2 pillars outside your lane under (almost) any circumstance by flying/gliding to them.

    Work on upgrading the middle cannon first and then orientate at whatever your builder is currently upgrading and spend them whenever possible. When a wave spawns (and pillars are clear), stand in your outer turret area so you can start DPS'ing as soon as possible.

    Stand in/follow the mobs paths so you immediately pick up any dropped crystals. Spread your DPS evenly instead of focusing 1 mob until it is dead.

    Pay attention to your builders task and other lanes, if you see your builder picking up his first crystal when they have less than 10 sec left (because he was busy), you may pick up one of the remaining 2 as he won't manage to grab them all.

    If you see other lanes struggling harder than yours, get ready to DPS near the statue. Also, pay attention to the neighbouring pillars from other lanes, sometimes people are too busy to pick it up in time or plainly miss it (and a crystal thats 6 sec from despawning while the DPS is still fighting mobs is sure to go to waste if you don't react yourself)

    GENERAL THINGS/KNOWN BUGS TO LOOK OUT FOR AS OF FEB 2020

    • Cannon disappearing on upgrade (seems to have a higher chance to happen if you move while upgrading or are too far away)
    • Crystals getting eaten on upgrade (either because you are not close enough or occasionally when upgrading at the same time as someone else)
    • Small crystals disappearing (happens when theres multiple crystals on the ground, if they aren't far enough from each other it'll suck up the others aswell even if you don't walk over them)
    • Only getting one of the crystals if multiple spawn at the same time on 1 pillar (50/50 depending on which angle you hit them at, you only get 1 if you pick them up at the exact same frame)
    • 3 crystals not spawning on start of the wave (not sure what causes this, had it only happen once so far, every lane got screwed out of crystals)
    • Mob 1-shotting the statue (rather rare and only seems to happen with the bigger Onis, who knows if its a feature...)

    With the amount I wrote I could have probably just went all the way and made a complete guide explaining the enemies etc, but its mainly supposed to get people on track with the current update again and have new players get the basics down while explaining the general thought behind the actions performed. Feel free to add or correct stuff that may optimize it even more.

    EU Server choice - Alexander?

    Posted: 11 Mar 2020 03:44 AM PDT

    Hello,

    I played Archeage:Unchained for 2 days during launch and then stopped cuz my computer was too shitty.

    I can finally play with decent fps now, and already have a lvl 53 character in Alexander, but I feel like the server population is not really high and I've heard that there are like only 2 big guilds. Did people stop playing? Should I go to another server?

    Anyone upgrade all their pet gear?

    Posted: 10 Mar 2020 08:39 PM PDT

    Edit. Regrade all their pet gear*

    Is there a item bonus for every resil gear youve awakened? Or will it always be 1 piece for half damage taken and lots more damage done?

    I have the armor awakened, and my pet dont get obliterated by EHM mobs, and survived his first Aegis boss fight.

    I just wantto know if its worth to go for full set, if each piece will give an item bonus, and lead up to set bonus as well. Very expensive! Im 30 starpoints used so far.

    Has anyone gotten a pilot corgi?

    Posted: 10 Mar 2020 05:41 PM PDT

    Grown probably 60-70 corgis. Leather was giving me bread corgis and now milk which is supposed to give pilot corgi is giving me pirates instead. Are the pilot corgis pearls? Pearls are WAY too expensive to mass produce another clone corgi army. Can't believe either out of all those corgis I didn't get one lucky random pilot.

    Making friends

    Hi! This is my first time ever thoroughly playing a video game (evn though they've always fascinated me) and I'd really like to make some friends. I'd be a really shitty teammate for now, but I'm definitely willing to improve and learn a few tricks ! Let me know if any of you would be interested to help.
