| Posted: 26 Nov 2021 11:35 AM PST I'm planing to go do mostly small scale sea content/PvP on my time off after doing all the chores.What is the current state of classes on the sea? The last time I played has been a good while and a lot of stuff has changed. I'd like to gather some general information so I'm happy about any info you throw my way even if I didn't ask for it. I have some specific questions too though: How's the balance between the main ranged trees? Gunslinger wasn't out when I last played so specifically that and sorcery (my old main). Do melees have any worth in that kind of content over ranged? Are tank builds useful on a boat? Skullknight for example. I'm weighing my options between Sorcery and Archery mainly so how do those specifically stack up? Oh and on an off note, is there still some activity on the waters (I'll be on fresh start ofc)? | Unpopular Opinion: Getting Rid of the Cargo Ship Will Wreck the Economy Posted: 26 Nov 2021 02:22 AM PST I've noticed that one of the most popular requests is to get rid of the cargo ship. And I get it. Charcoal runs used to be crazy fun. Now it's just an afk 45 minute boat ride. I miss the good times too. But I don't think people really consider the other change that was made at the same time the cargo ship was introduced. Cargo packs were also introduced. When we did merchant runs with Rokhala packs out of Solis to Two Crowns with our butts clenched the whole 9 minutes, the packs cost us around 2g each to make. If we lost the whole ship, we lost like maybe 60g and a lot of labor and time. Cargo packs for onyx archeum essence are 30g each. A merch of those packs would cost 900g. Ain't nobody gonna be zipping 900g across the ocean with so little gain. Our 2g packs netted us like 50 charcoal a pack. These 30g cargo packs get you like 16 onyx archeum essence if you don't have the quest. Getting rid of the boat doesn't mean exciting ocean pvp as that's just too much risk for anyone not riding on an eternal clipper, it just means polishes will cost 300g each. Changing one aspect of the broken trade system won't bring back the good ole days. It'll just make the bad days that much worse. [link] [comments] |
| Advice for a new player - AA:Unchained Posted: 25 Nov 2021 08:31 AM PST Good morning, I am really excited to get an opportunity to try this game out. I have always wanted to give it a try but its so difficult to jump into an established MMO solo. I know I'm going to get crushed by the experienced players but I have been doing research on youtube to try and figure out the game's systems so the learning curve isn't quite as steep. Does anyone have any recommendations on good learning materials? I have been trying to watch the archeage101 videos but its difficult to determine how the patch we use on dec 2nd will translate to that older set of tutorials. Thanks! [link] [comments] |
