I've been playing archeage for a while, but never reached to real endgame gear. I play as melee offtank, mainly as abolisher and doomlord. I was wondering what would be more powerfull in endgame: leather or plate.

I was searching about KR melee tankers and saw that most ppl use Plate but can't pass 12k magic resistence. But then... I saw ONE leather monster. This one:

The only stats he seems to miss is focus... I would like to ask you guys what should be better in a offtank melee... plate or leather? Most of status is full STR or 75% STR/ 25% STAM.
