A lot of threads are old info and it seems quite a bit has changed since release. From everything I've read it looks to be that most everyone sticks with Hiram. I don't mind it too much since there's a sense of progression with constantly upgrading it, but it's always been nice in other MMOs to get that feeling of excitement when you get a new gear drop off a mob/dungeon/etc.

Almost all I see on Setna in world announcements is Hiram upgrading. I noticed there's an Item Encyclopedia that has all these bad ass looking items that look strong but I don't know how to tell if any of them are worth it.

What other gear is worth going for? For reference I'm a cloth Mage (arcanist). Only 3.6 GS and I know getting higher up is a grind, but just seeing if there's any goals worth shooting for gear wise.

From what I know Hiram was a way of catching up quickly but I wish they kept the normal loot drop system :/
